Not all Oak barrels & kegs are made equal. Our barrels & kegs are hand crafted using traditional methods, and will seal naturally by filling with water, water-logging each wooden stave and expanding them into the metal rings until all wooden joints are closed. Genuine Barrels & Kegs do not contain bladders, wax, paint or glue on the inside therefore some dark Patina may appear which is a by-product of the sealing process and an authentic characteristic which is often desired.
