About
When we're not at work, we love nothing more than traveling around and looking for something new and fantastic to bring home. We love pottery, artwork, art glass, jewelry and more of the usual things, but we go bananas for the rare, unusual or just a bit weird. Georgian to Mid-mod, we don't have a "style"....we buy the coolest stuff we find and after decades of doing it, WE KNOW COOL!

Georgian Jewellery by Ginny Redington Dawes, Ginny Redi
A super book focusing exclusively on early jewelry. The photography is very well done and the examples are excellent. The text itself is useful in helping to identify Georgian pieces and how the styles evolved. Particularly nice is the section on reproductions/fakes; a topic which could warrant it's own book!
The only thing lacking is something that holds true for almost all antique jewelry books: it would be helpful to see more photographs of the back of pieces i.e. the fittings and findings. I know much of this is a result of publisher/editor choices, but would be very helpful to the reader.
I would (and have) highly recommend this book to anyone who appreciates antique jewelry.

Warman's Jewelry by Christie Romero (2002, Paperback, R
If you collect or are interested in antique jewelry, this book is excellent and something you'll keep and go back to over and over. THE BEST FEATURE about this book is the jewelry/history timeline in the front. Helps in dating pieces based on their construction and material....PRICELESS information! Great photos of really good pieces too. One of my favorites for jewelry!
