    The sockets were used but several had quite a bit of rust on them which damage the Chrome and left quite a bit of pitting. The half inch drive ratchet had a lot of grit and grime inside the mechanism for forward and reverse, thus the switch lever did not function very well and was jammed. I disassembled the ratchet cleaned out the buildup of gunk grit and grime and then I reassembled after cleaning with a minute amount of tool grease. The ratchet seems to work just fine now.
