I like stereoviews, so you will see lots of them in my store. Stereoviews, when viewed through a stereoviewer, appear in 3D and make you feel like you can step into the scene. Three-Dimensional photography has been around about as long as photography itself. The famous Civil War photographers M.B. Brady and Alexander Gardner photographed the war in 3D, and so did many lesser known Civil War photographers. Thus, there are literally 1000s of Civil War images in 3D – albeit, many are quite rare. American towns and cities throughout the 1860s and 70s were chronicled on stereoviews by a local photographer. Three-D photography was the “television” entertainment of the mid-19th Century. If you want to step back in time, just buy an antique stereoview.
