Great product and brand, I did not buy this for food use but for watchmaking to remove the stun of a stem from a crown, it worked very well. A++ebayer
I know this is the brand everyone uses and I have no clue what it's used for in cooking, I think as a preservative. I bought this product for watchmaking, a winding stem from a watch broke off below the Crowns threads. With no way to get a replacement crown I looked online and it said alot of alum powder in water heated in a stainless steel or glass vessel. Remove the rubber o ring from the crown and put the crown in, the stem is made out of low carbon steel while the crown is made of 316L marine grade stainless steel. The way it broke meant their was no way I could physically remove it without destroying the crown and I could not get a replacement. I put the crown in the heated mixture of alum and water and after a while it dissolved the stub of the broken stem quite quickly. I then cleaned up the crown, put the o ring back in, got a new stem then sized it up cut it to length and a perfect repair, good as new. Great product that will last many years and looks like it has many uses. The product came very fast in the post and was less than £2 It came with good packaging and no damage. If you want this product buy it from this vendor its great quality and will arrive fast and is the best value for money. A++++ Ebayer
