Hello and welcome to Acrylic World of different range and styles accessories. Acrylic pieces are weather proof and waterproof. Very light and durable than glass. Acrylic is unlikely to break. If it does it will not shatter into tiny shards like glass - it shatters into a few larger sized and dull pieces.     The item is gorgeous but even though I was told it had been dispatched on the day I'd bought it it wasn't dispatched until at least two weeks later and the tracking number I was given didn't work so I got pretty concerned. Thankfully they arrived and they are stunning so all's well that ends well
