Great Value Windows 10 Phone
If you're looking for a cheap, good value smartphone, then most will tend to stick with Android, but have you considered Windows Phone? Microsoft might have almost given up on the platform now, but that doesn't mean it's still not a good option. This Lumia 535, thanks to the free update from Microsoft, now runs Windows Phone 10, and offers a vastly improved experience, and includes the new, faster edge browser. The phone has dual 5MP cameras, so better than most for selfies if that's your thing, and with the right apps makes a brilliant mobile office, business tool. The battery is pretty good, given the screen size, and lasts well, although depends on sync durations, usage, brightness etc, and to help out, there's a battery saver mode. Like most now, it's powered by a Quad Core SOC CPU, and has 1gb RAM, might not be enough under Android, but works well with Windows. It can't be considered a recent model by any means, but it's specification means that it's still a very usable phone, and one which can easily be customised, and keep you entertained with the right apps. More importantly, I've found it to be a very dependable, and reliable phone, that did everything I wanted.

Need an RCA audio extension cable? then this is just the job
1 of 1 found this helpful I needed an RCA extension cable to extend the one supplied with an inexpensive game console, so as to be able to connect to a TV and play from a distance. This extension cable fits my requirements perfectly, being also inexpensive, but 5m in length, so when connected to the one supplied, gives a decent length. The black / red plug coding is designed for audio use, but of course works fine using with the composite video too which is the same RCA connection.
The primary use for a cable such as this would be to extend the audio output from a piece of audio equipment to your amplifier, and would therefore be useful to anyone who has one of those suitcase record players, as most have RCA outputs to connect to your audio system's aux / phono input so as to use it's speakers. I wouldn't recommend for Hi-Fi use, as the cable is too thin, but then you wouldn't expect otherwise given the price. However, it does the job, and have no reason to doubt that it'll probably last some time.

Simple & Reliable SKY TV link
Having tried several wireless options to link our Sky with a TV in the conservatory, we've had mixed results, but this just worked right away. It's using RF so obviously the picture and sound quality isn't fantastic, but no worse than TV was before it went digital, so can live with that. What's especially good about it, is that...
a) It's very easy to hook up, just need some RF cable and plugs.
b) It works great, and the signal is reliable as it's permanently linked.
c) The 'Magic Eye' or IR receiver, means that you can use your Sky remote on the linked TV, very convenient.
A simple, cheap and effective solution that anyone can setup, so no need for a 2nd Sky box, unless you want to watch different channels.
