I have recently rediscovered the Northern Exposure series, and I can confidently declare that I now want to live in Sicily, Alaska, where the doctors are neurotic, the pilots are ravishing, the DJs are eloquent, and the most talented chefs have an uncanny resemblance to Sasquatch. The show is about a small town set in a beautiful wilderness, and true to its small town environment, the personalities of the characters are always evident. In fact, the show often serves delightful studies on character and chemistry. It's smart, funny, and though there are a few awkward moments typical of a first season, this DVD set is a neccessary introduction for anyone planning to spend some time in dear, quirky, ol' Sicily.
