A very useful device to own!
This little device makes all the difference. I use it all the time when taking videos in outdoor situations where the sun makes it practically impossible to see through the LCD screen. In fact, I often use it for taking pictures too, as I go from video to photography all the time. It is quite simple to mount and you can still mount the camera on a tripod when the viewfinder's mounting device is attached.
You can easily slide off the viewfinder from the mounting unit if need be. In other words, I never take the viewfinder off its mounting device because it does not prevent me from using any of my camera's (Canon 70D) functions.
This is the second unit I buy. The first one lasted a good five years before the rubber seal that rests against the screen started to wear out.

Not better than a traditional hose.
This seems like a gimmick to me. I don't see what advantages it brings compared to traditional hoses. When the water flows through it, it inflates and looks alive, which is about the best thing I can say about this thing. Because of the material used, it's not particularly easy to store in a neat way. I also had the feeling that the water flow was less than with a traditional hose, but I did not test that accurately.
