Fan was as described with some damage. I love the subject matter. The hand tinted garden scene and the side views are children in a play and a girl dancing to a boy who is playing a violin. It gives a look into life and values in the late 1700's. I am sure the damage to the front of the fan can be repaired. The back will take some re-creation. Overall, I consider this a fantastic purchase from an excellent seller. Thank You.
