A solid SOHO choice
This multi-function machine is an excellent choice for small or home office black & white jobs. I was looking for a cost-effective and dependable small-office monochrome unit. This met those expectation. I use other Samsung printers, and know them to be very thrifty with toner. This one turned out to be an excellent choice for my needs. I have purchased 2 of these machines. Positives: - Cost per copy is very low, since the toner lasts through many copies. - You can refill the cartridge with off-market toner, pick'em up on eBay for a few bucks. - Full-featured fax. You can scan the documents, take them and walk away. Don't need to wait. - A neat, compact design. - Several other comparable "color" printers actually uses small amounts of color onto your B&W copies, even if the machines are set to print the docs in black. If you need just monochrome copies, you will be happy with the performance and cost-efficiency of this unit. - This unit scans in color, on a flatbed. So, no problem there. - USB connectable. - 1 button scanning from the unit sends the scans directly to your PC. Notes: I wish Samsung had written better software for this unit. Also, some features will work better with the USB connection only, not the conventional parallel connection. Hope this helps.
