The Bulova Spaceview is THE classic American watch.
These watches are accurate and beautiful, but only buy one that runs. Parts are no longer available from Bulova and repairs can cost anywhere from $200-1200. If you find one that runs and take care of it then it should last a very long time.

Better than I thought
This scale is reasonably accurate as long as you are not looking to do one or two ounces. It is a good size and has worked well for me.
