It didn't lighten my bare plywood. On my old faded pine it worked OK. But as an experienced decorator thats previously used a similar product (albeit 30 years ago), it doesn't come close to the older product. Unfortunately I can't recall what the brand was. In my opinion this product is ok for lightly bleaching wood.
