  For anyone considering the Eye-Fi cards, you'll need a few community made apps such as eyefi-config to get the cards upload key and do initial setup of wifi. Also look into eyeflask or eyefiserver to setup a local / standalone server on your own pc or raspberry pi (or a fork like eyefiserver 3,) The reasons I got new in box units were to have a "worst case scenario" for doing initial setup in 2025, to know which exact generation eyefi cards I got and try to write a guide.
