For eBay users, this means you have the right to withdraw from a contract with eBay or a contract with a business seller within the 14-day period, where applicable.
How to withdraw from an eBay contract
If you’re registered on an EU eBay site and you wish to withdraw from an eBay contract within 14 days of agreeing to the terms of the contract, choose the appropriate link below:
- I’d like to withdraw from the User Agreement - opens in new window or tab
- I’d like to withdraw from the Payments Terms of Use - opens in new window or tab
This will bring you to a webform, where we'll guide you through the process to confirm your withdrawal. Withdrawing from the User Agreement or the Payments Terms of Use effectively means closing your eBay account. If you close your eBay account, you won’t be able to reopen that account. Instead, you’ll need to create a new account.
We’ll send you an email acknowledging your request to withdraw. The email will outline any additional steps you need to take, if necessary. Once the process is complete and your account is closed, you’ll receive a final email confirmation.
Withdrawing from a purchase contract
All business sellers who list their items on an EU eBay site must allow consumers to make a return within 14 days, without needing a reason.
- If you made your purchase while signed in, withdraw from a purchase contract through My eBay - opens in new window or tab
- If you made your purchase as a guest, withdraw from a purchase contract through Find guest order details - opens in new window or tab
If you choose to withdraw from a purchase contract and you’ve already received the item, you must return the item you bought. You may also be responsible for the return postage or other costs, depending on the seller policy.
