Reporting content on eBay

If you've seen content on eBay that you believe is inappropriate, let us know and we'll look into it.

As a global operator of ecommerce platforms, we're committed to the safety of our users and to creating an environment where you can shop with confidence.

To that end, we strictly prohibit posting content on eBay that violates applicable laws, the rights of third parties, eBay's User Agreement, or eBay's policies. This applies to all types of content posted on eBay by users, including listings, feedback, and reviews. If you see content on eBay that is potentially illegal in nature, or violates our User Agreement or policies, you can report it to us.

How to report inappropriate content

Here’s how you can submit a report to us:

  1. On the page where you saw the content, select the question mark icon.
  2. Under Report content, select Submit report. You may be asked to sign in, or submit as a guest.
  3. Under What would you like to report?, select the correct type of content, e.g. Feedback.
  4. Fill in the form, including the details of the content you’re reporting, and the reason for reporting it. You can also add freeform text and upload documents.
  5. Select Submit report.

Once we receive your report, we'll send you a receipt confirmation. We'll then review your report and make a decision in accordance with applicable laws, the rules in our User Agreement, and our policies.

We may forward the content of your report, as well as the information submitted with it, to the user who posted the content you reported. Your identity will be disclosed to the user only when strictly necessary.

When you submit a report, you must act in good faith and ensure the information you state is accurate and complete. Please note we have the right and are legally obligated to suspend the processing of reports from users and third parties who misuse the reporting process and frequently submit manifestly unfounded reports.
